Softball Recap: Three Rivers' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 12

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Three Rivers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Premont Cowboys get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 matches by six runs or more this season.

Alyson Gomez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Three Rivers got a massive performance out of Nayelli Longinos, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sydney Ruiz, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The victory was the 12th in a row for Three Rivers, bringing their record up to 25-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Premont, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Three Rivers will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cowboys: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
