Walkertown hasn't had much luck against Morehead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Walkertown Wolfpack will face off against the Morehead Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Walkertown has seven straight victories, Morehead has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Morehead's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Walkertown hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Walkertown's pitcher stepped up to hand T.W. Andrews a 23-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Wolfpack have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cam Smith was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Aaron Hester also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Walkertown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .651 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Morehead might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Person who claimed the real prize. Morehead fell just short of Person by a score of 6-5.
Morehead saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Wade, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Morehead is 2-1 when Wade posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jackson Silvers was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Walkertown pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.5 runs. As for Morehead, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Morehead's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Walkertown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. It's a different story for Morehead, though, as they've only averaged .215. Will they be able to contain Walkertown's hitters?
Walkertown might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Morehead in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Walkertown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
