Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluff Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Cedar Bluff, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 70-61 win over the Pleasant Valley Raiders on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leading Cedar Bluff to victory were Shon Gleen and Zach Jones. Gleen went 11 for 13 on his way to 25 points, while Jones went 10 of 17 en route to 22 points along with eight steals and five assists. The match was Gleen's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Bishop, who posted five points and 15 rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Cedar Bluff was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cedar Bluff's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Pleasant Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Cedar Bluff won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ohatchee at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Bluff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. As for Pleasant Valley, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Sand Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
