Football Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Anderson extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-4. They lost 32-6 to the University Prep Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 25-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for University Prep, their win bumped their record up to 3-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

University Prep found their leader in freshman Talis Payne, who rushed for 210 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and one TD. Payne's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. Braeden Ballensky was in the mix too, providing University Prep with two touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Anderson is set to square off against their familiar foe Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, University Prep will take on rival West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on November 1.
