Baseball Game Preview: Dexter Dreadnaughts vs. Monroe Trojans

The Dexter Dreadnaughts will head out to take on the Monroe Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dexter will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Dexter not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 28, 2024. They blew past Adrian 9-3.

Ethan Bush looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Novara, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Robeson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Dexter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-0 to Carlson.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dexter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Dexter took their victory against Monroe in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Dreadnaughts repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
