Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers vs. Northgate Flames

The Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Northgate Flames at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell 6-3 to New Castle on Friday.

Meanwhile, Northgate gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Fort Cherry.

Johna Abramowicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Hooper, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Michaela DeFlorimonte, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Everything went Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's way against Northgate in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart made off with an 18-1 victory.
