Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Woodland Christian Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Kennedy Cougars challenge the Woodland Christian Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Kennedy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Marysville two weeks ago as Kennedy made off with a 77-52 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cougars have posted since December 5, 2024.

Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Aharon Young posted 22 points and Jordan Lawrence had 20 points. Young's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jovani Onedera was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Woodland Christian strolled past Vacaville Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Kennedy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Woodland Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
