Basketball Recap: Ingalls Skates Past Satanta with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ingalls). They breezed by the Satanta Indians to the tune of 66-30 on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Indians are ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Ingalls to victory were Jill Schmeeckle and Olivia Stein. Schmeeckle dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Stein dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Schmeeckle a new career-high in assists (five). Jennasey Stoudemire was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Ingalls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Ingalls is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Satanta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Ingalls and Minneola will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. Ingalls is facing Minneola at the right time seeing as Minneola is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Satanta, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spearville on February 4th.
