Basketball Recap: North Kingstown Skippers vs. Classical Purple

North Kingstown lost against Classical back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Kingstown Skippers took a 74-57 bruising from the Classical Purple. While the Skippers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Purple 22-16 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, North Kingstown still got an impressive performance from Michael Deorsey, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Bodington, who posted 15 points.

Eliezer Delbrey was his usual excellent self, putting up 34 points for Classical. Delbrey is becoming a predictor of Classical's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Abdul Evans was another key player, posting 18 points.

North Kingstown suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Classical, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

North Kingstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-48 loss against East Providence on the 6th. As for Classical, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-75 victory against Portsmouth on the 6th.
