Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Gets the Win

While Cape Fear's win against Clinton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts slipped by the Dark Horses 50-49 on Monday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Dark Horses recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Chosen Wynn went supernova, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Geronimo Sanchez, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Cape Fear smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the loss, Clinton still got an impressive performance from Jaden Bell, who shot 40% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Anyahs Butler, who had ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Cape Fear's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Cape Fear will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clinton, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Wallace-Rose Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
