Baseball Recap: Putnam City West Comes Up Short

Putnam City West managed to slip by Norman North the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Putnam City West came up short against Norman North on Friday, falling 12-4. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cadence Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Putnam City West's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Norman North, they moved to 8-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Putnam City West will be playing in front of their home fans against Mustang at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Mustang has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Norman North, they will head out to square off against Piedmont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
