Softball Recap: Greenback Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Greenback and Oakdale, and Oakdale kept the tradition alive. The Cherokees fell 11-8 to the Eagles on Saturday. The Cherokees were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Greenback's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Oakdale, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Greenback will take on Wartburg Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakdale has already played their next matchup (against Coalfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
