Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Plainfield walked away with it. They came out on top against the Castle Knights by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Quakers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Plainfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Donovan led the charge by getting 18 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Donovan has posted since back in October. Savannah Brock was another key player, getting 19 digs.
Despite the loss, Castle still got an impressive performance from Karsyn Wilhelmus, who had seven digs and two aces.
Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 28-5. As for Castle, the loss snapped their winning streak at 16 matches and leaves them with a 31-4 record.
Plainfield has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Yorktown on the 1st. Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
