Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beech Grove). They walked away with a 71-61 win over the Monrovia Bulldogs on Saturday. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beech Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mylee Boling, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. Boling is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Emma Micks was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Beech Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Monrovia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoie Walls, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. Monrovia is 6-1 when Walls posts eight or more rebounds, but 4-6 otherwise.
