Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Takes a Loss

Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 31st straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 77-10 loss at the hands of the George Stevens Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-21 on January 7th.

Deer Isle-Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for George Stevens Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Isle-Stonington has already played their next matchup (against Bangor Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. George Stevens Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Piscataquis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
