Softball Recap: Amherst Falcons vs. Almond-Bancroft Eagles

Amherst had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Almond-Bancroft Eagles, falling 11-0. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 10-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Almond-Bancroft, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Almond-Bancroft's part, they got a great performance from Lexi Carlton as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Carlton has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riya Ceballos was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacie Bradley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
