Basketball Game Preview: Largo Packers vs. East Lake Eagles + How To Watch

Largo hasn't had much luck against East Lake recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Packers will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Largo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Largo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 70-61 win over Pinellas Park on Tuesday. With that victory, the Packers brought their scoring average up to 50.7 points per game.

Largo relied on the efforts of Denzel Johnson, who shot 70% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards, and Chase Clark, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 19 points. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 46.8% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Reardon, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, East Lake waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-56 W against the Warhawks.

East Lake's win came from a few key players Largo will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jeremiah Cooper, who went 9-for-17 on his way to 24 points and seven steals. He has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season. Andre Willis was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Largo's record now sits at 3-7. As for East Lake, their record is now 7-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Largo has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like East Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Largo was taken down by East Lake 72-41 when the teams last played back in January. Can the Packers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
