Baseball Recap: South Pittsburg Has No Trouble Against Grundy County

South Pittsburg never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Grundy County Yellowjackets as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won six in a row.

Bailey Fults made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Pittsburg is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-14 otherwise. Fults was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Stone, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Britton Case, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

South Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Grundy County, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.

South Pittsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
