Preview: Springfield Longhorns vs. Stratton Eagles

Springfield is 0-4 against Stratton since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Springfield Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Stratton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Springfield came up short against Cheyenne Wells and fell 10-5.

Carter Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Meanwhile, Stratton didn't have quite enough to beat Holly on Saturday and fell 2-1. Stratton has not had much luck with Holly recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Stratton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 21-9 defeat they got from Stratton in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Thankfully for Springfield, Alex Cruz (who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances) won't be suiting up this time.
