Basketball Recap: Parkview Takes a Loss

Parkview suffered their biggest defeat since February 2, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by the Dr. Phillips Panthers 63-25. While losing is never fun, Parkview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 133rd in Georgia, while Dr. Phillips is ranked 16th in Florida).

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aziza Smith, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Parkview has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Dr. Phillips, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Parkview will face off against Norcross at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips has already played their next contest (against Hebron Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
