Softball Game Preview: New Castle Trojans vs. Yorktown Tigers

New Castle is 1-9 against Yorktown since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Neither New Castle nor Yorktown posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

New Castle came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against New Palestine, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Yorktown faced Noblesville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Tigers lost 9-1 to the Millers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 24th.

Yorktown's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for New Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

New Castle might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Yorktown in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
