Academy of Our Lady hadn't done well against Benjamin Franklin recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Penguins came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Penguins have posted since September 21, 2024.

Academy of Our Lady had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 15-25, 25-14, 25-21, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Benjamin Franklin still got an impressive performance from Maleah Leal, who had 15 digs and three aces. Laura Fisher also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Academy of Our Lady and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for Benjamin Franklin, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Academy of Our Lady wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy on the 19th.
