Softball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Wins Going Away Against Leesville Road

Cardinal Gibbons won the last time they faced Leesville Road and things went their way on Thursday too. Cardinal Gibbons blew past Leesville Road 8-2. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Katie Scavone was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Mazzo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Cardinal Gibbons hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leesville Road struck out 15 times.

Cardinal Gibbons now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Leesville Road, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Gibbons will face off against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leesville Road, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Athens Drive at 4:30 p.m. on April 8.
