Softball Recap: Katella Takes a Loss

Calvary Chapel hit Katella with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights fell 12-7 to the Eagles. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

Krystal Barrios made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nataly Rodarte, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Katella and nudges their season record down to 11-13. As for Calvary Chapel, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-15 record.

While Katella had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
