Basketball Recap: Carson Howell Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

The Warriors strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 71-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Calvary Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Howell, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave Howell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alton Combs, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost, don't look at Peyton Liverman. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-13 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Easton Hobbs was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
