Baseball Game Preview: Kelly Catholic Bulldogs vs. Houston Christian Mustangs

The Kelly Catholic Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Houston Christian Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kelly Catholic is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

On Tuesday, Kelly Catholic made easy work of Tomball Kings and carried off a 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Houston Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over HCYA on Thursday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with HCYA recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kelly Catholic's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Houston Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

Kelly Catholic skirted past Houston Christian 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
