Soccer Game Preview: Lenoir City vs. Sequoyah

The Lenoir City Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Sequoyah Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lenoir City will be strutting in after a win while Sequoyah will be coming in after a loss.

Lenoir City took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Alcoa, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a goal and slipped past the Tornadoes 2-1.

Meanwhile, Sequoyah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against South-Doyle, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Sequoyah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 240th, while South-Doyle are ranked 30th).

Lenoir City's victory bumped their record up to 3-5-2. As for Sequoyah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Everything went Lenoir City's way against Sequoyah when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Lenoir City made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
