Softball Recap: St. Edmund Takes a Loss

St. Edmund was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Church Point Bears. The Fighting Blue Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

St. Edmund's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Church Point, they moved to 4-11-1 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Edmund will square off against Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic of Pointe Coupee's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so St. Edmund's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Church Point, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Beau Chene at 5:30 p.m.
