Softball Recap: Roosevelt Wins Going Away Against Madera South

After losing to Madera South the last time they met, Roosevelt decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rough Riders put the hurt on the Stallions with a sharp 17-5 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rough Riders, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Josie Perez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Perez a new career-high. Arianna Arredondo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Madera South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Roosevelt has already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against Dos Palos on the 15th. As for Madera South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-7 loss against Caruthers on the 15th.
