Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Eastern Comets

The Clinton Central Bulldogs will take on the Eastern Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Clinton Central's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Eastern has been banged up by 20 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Clinton Central is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Sheridan on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Clinton Central lost 54-29 to Sheridan.

Meanwhile, Eastern had to suffer through a 62-22 loss at the hands of Oak Hill. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 67th).

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Clinton Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5.

Clinton Central took their win against Eastern when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 53-29. Will Clinton Central repeat their success, or does Eastern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
