Baseball Recap: Land O' Lakes Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Land O' Lakes not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th. Everything went their way against the Central Bears as they made off with a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Land O' Lakes got a great performance from Zachary Kelly as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Kelly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trey Page was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Harris, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Land O' Lakes' victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Land O' Lakes and Central are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Gators will take on Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will face off against Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
