Football Recap: Homer Comes Up Short

If Homer was feeling good fresh off their 58-18 takedown of Cortland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans were dealt a 63-28 loss at the hands of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Homer has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

As of now, neither Homer nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
