Basketball Game Preview: Chisholm Bluestreaks vs. Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers

The Chisholm Bluestreaks will face off against the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Chisholm has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Mountain Iron-Buhl will come in with eight straight victories.

Last Saturday, Chisholm came up short against Nashwauk-Keewatin and fell 63-55.

Meanwhile, Mountain Iron-Buhl earned a 49-39 win over Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Saturday. The 49-point effort marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mountain Iron-Buhl's win came from a few key players Chisholm will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Micaden Clines, who went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tj Duchamp, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Chisholm's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Chisholm lost to Mountain Iron-Buhl at home by a decisive 70-53 margin when the teams last played back in January. Thankfully for Chisholm, Rylen Niska (who went 12 of 19 on his way to 29 points along with eight boards and seven steals) won't be suiting up this time.
