Basketball Recap: Trent Fleming's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over Karns City

If Union was feeling good fresh off their 64-14 takedown of East Forest two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Union Knights/Damsels fell 66-53 to the Karns City Gremlins on Friday. The Knights/Damsels have struggled against the Gremlins recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Knights/Damsels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trent Fleming, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points. The contest was Fleming's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Owen Bish was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Karns City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will challenge Brockway at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Karns City, they will face off against DuBois at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
