Basketball Game Preview: Burlington Cougars vs. Simla Cubs

The Burlington Cougars and the Simla Cubs will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Burlington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Burlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Sargent 50-33.

Burlington's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Charlotte Goodnow, who posted 13 points and seven steals, and Kiyarra Williams, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Goodnow a new career-high in points. Bethany Cure was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Burlington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 23 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Simla was able to grind out a solid victory over Hoehne on Friday, taking the game 48-40. The win continues a trend for the Cubs in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won three in a row.

Simla's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Burlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Burlington was able to grind out a solid win over Simla in their previous matchup back in February, winning 51-41. Will Burlington repeat their success, or does Simla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
