Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Academy Ravens vs. Louisa-Muscatine Falcons

Hillcrest Academy is 8-2 against Louisa-Muscatine since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hillcrest Academy beat Fairfield 54-48. Given the Ravens' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Trojans are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Louisa-Muscatine). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lone Tree last Friday, sneaking past 79-76. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Louisa-Muscatine's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Hillcrest Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hillcrest Academy skirted past Louisa-Muscatine 45-43 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Hillcrest Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Louisa-Muscatine turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
