It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cerritos had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mira Costa Mustangs as they made off with a 14-5 win. The Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Cerritos, bringing their record up to 15-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mira Costa, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-19.

Looking ahead, Cerritos will square off against Valencia at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Dons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. Mira Costa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
