Volleyball Recap: Lawrence North Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Luis Vergara and Angel Matias-Ramos

Lawrence North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the North Central Panthers. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lawrence North was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made North Central work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Lawrence North's loss came despite strong showings from Angel Matias-Ramos and Luis Vergara. Matias-Ramos had 22 digs and two assists, while Vergara had 15 digs.

Lawrence North's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for North Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Lawrence North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Warren Central on the 15th. As for North Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against International on the 15th.
