Football Recap: Newberry Academy Takes a Loss

Newberry Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of the King Academy Knights. The contest marked Newberry Academy's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for King Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 44.4 points this season.

King Academy found their leader in sophomore Joseph Morse, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Morse has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.

Newberry Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King Academy, they will head out to square off against Laurens Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight games.
