Baseball Game Preview: Pace Vikings vs. Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets

The Pace Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with 34 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Pace turned things around against Edcouch-Elsa on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yellowjackets, sneaking past 12-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-run performance the match before.

For Edcouch-Elsa's part, Troy Barco made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Barco a new career-high in runs. Jason Pena also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Pace's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Edcouch-Elsa, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.
