Basketball Game Preview: Germantown Christian Conquerors vs. Immaculate Conception Academy

The Germantown Christian Conquerors will square off against Immaculate Conception Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Germantown Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Immaculate Conception Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

If Immaculate Conception Academy heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Germantown Christian took over last week. Germantown Christian skirted past Varsity Opponent 43-40.

Germantown Christian relied on the efforts of Ian Francis, who posted 12 points, and Paxton Scott, who scored five points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Morningstar, who put up two points.

Germantown Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Immaculate Conception Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on January 3rd as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of CHESS Christian. While losing is never fun, Immaculate Conception Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while CHESS Christian is ranked 271st).

Germantown Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Immaculate Conception Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Germantown Christian took a serious blow against Immaculate Conception Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 61-27. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Germantown Christian was down 41-20.
