Preview: Cohasset Skippers vs. Amesbury Redhawks
Cohasset is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Amesbury is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Cohasset Skippers will take on the Amesbury Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cohasset's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Cohasset extended their postseason success on Friday against Mashpee. They blew past the Falcons, posting a 35-8 victory at home. Cohasset might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 27 points or more this season.
Liam Appleton and Michael Wildfire were among the main playmakers for Cohasset as the former gained 100 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Cohasset's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Ben Henry was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Amesbury didn't have too much trouble with West Bridgewater on the road on Friday as they won 34-18.
Their wins bumped Cohasset to 6-3 and Amesbury to 8-1.
