West Springfield won the last time they faced Fairfax and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans didn't even let the Lions on the board, marking the Spartans' second-straight 3-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

West Springfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Busch, who had 18 digs and two aces. Busch has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mealea Menh, who had four aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: West Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive matchups.

West Springfield's record is now 21-2. As for Fairfax, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

West Springfield and Fairfax should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Spartans will challenge West Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (36 vs. 221). Meanwhile, Fairfax (ranked 111th) will meet Alexandria City (ranked 242nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
