Recap: Skyline Raiders vs. Lake Ridge Eagles
After flying high against the Mansfield Legacy Broncos on Tuesday, the Skyline Raiders came back down to earth. Skyline opened the new year with a less-than-successful 71-66 loss to they on Friday. They have not had much luck with Lake Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Skyline lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lily Brown, who scored 14 points along with six assists and three steals. The contest was Brown's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naiya Carney, who scored 19 points.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Lake Ridge, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.
Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Ridge in Texas (DeSoto is ranked fifth, while Lake Ridge is ranked 82nd).
