Soccer Game Preview: Kent-Meridian vs. Auburn Mountainview

The Kent-Meridian Royals will take on the Auburn Mountainview Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Kent-Meridian sitting on seven straight wins and Auburn Mountainview on nine.

Kent-Meridian proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat Decatur by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Auburn Mountainview made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jefferson on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 7-0 victory. Auburn Mountainview might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by three goals or more this season.

Auburn Mountainview pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Kent-Meridian, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-4.

Kent-Meridian came up short against Auburn Mountainview in their previous matchup back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
