Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for North Central

North Central's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Warren Central Warriors as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Charlie Barker looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, North Central got a massive performance out of Garrity Ullom, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits Ullom has posted since back in April of 2024. Rykin Matthias was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

North Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only posted an OBP of .409.

North Central pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Warren Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 1-4-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Central beat Warren Central by a score of 14-0 on Wednesday.
