Volleyball Game Preview: American Canyon Wolves vs. Benicia Panthers

The American Canyon Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Benicia Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

American Canyon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Analy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2.

American Canyon came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 24-26, 21-25, 26-24, 18-16.

Meanwhile, Benicia had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 19-25, 25-19.

Benicia pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for American Canyon, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-4.

American Canyon came up short against Benicia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
