Baseball Recap: Silas Find Success

Silas was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Timberline Blazers 2-1.

Carter Lystra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson Keeton was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Silas' win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Timberline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silas will face off against Mount Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The T-Birds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.08 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Timberline, they will take on River Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
