Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is West Potomac's Third in Last Four Outings

West Potomac won the last time they faced Fairfax and things went their way on Monday too. The West Potomac Wolverines walked away with a 57-46 victory over the Fairfax Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

When it comes to explaining why Fairfax lost, don't look at Cam Yingling. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points in addition to five blocks and four steals. The dominant performance gave Yingling a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Penn Morris, who posted seven points.

West Potomac is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Fairfax, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

West Potomac will head out to take on Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Potomac knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Lake Braddock likes a good challenge. As for Fairfax, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-36 defeat against South County on the 15th.
