Basketball Recap: Sandy Valley Comes Up Short

Sandy Valley was the 54-18 winner over Newcomerstown when they last played one another back in February of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Sandy Valley Cardinals took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newcomerstown Trojans. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 13-7 in the first quarter.

This is the second loss in a row for Sandy Valley and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Newcomerstown, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Sandy Valley will be playing at home against Carrollton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Newcomerstown, they will venture away from home to challenge Malvern at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
